History

Since 1967, KRD has continuously evolved. At two locations on a total of 25,000 square meters, high-quality products are produced that are used worldwide. Run by the Brammer family in the third generation, the company focuses on innovation and continuity.

  • The success story begins in a small garage in Hamburg as "Gerd Brammer and Rolf Peters - Vehicle electronics/ship electrical engineering".

  • Founding of KRD Coatings GmbH Transparent plastic is turned into innovative high-tech glazing with high-quality coatings, special properties such as scratch and abrasion resistance as well as UV protection.

    KRD is the only provider for 3x7m coated panels throughout Germany and delivers 4,750 cuts = 25,000 sqm KASIGLAS® for the roof of the Olympic stadium in Athens. Noise protection walls with self-cleaning coating are delivered to Japan.
    2004

  • Another milestone for KRD is laid. The first composite safety window is delivered to the police.

    Composite is better than mono, various panel forms and strengths are possible.

  • KRD offers tension free forming in production-line quality. The cooperation with John Deere begins.

  • Inauguration of the site in Bardowick on 11,500 square metres of newest technology and manufacturing techniques. With Founding of KRD Engineering & Service GmbH services and additional products come into the company portfolio.

  • With the founding of KRD Luftfahrttechnik GmbH the concentrated know-how is combined with the materials for intelligent lightweight construction. KRD develops an innovative Manufacturing process for 3D forming of polycarbonate.
